COMPARE&CONTRAST ESSAY [BRAVE]

 I saw a movie last Friday. The title is {BRAVE}. Before I watched it, my friend who saw it before told me this movie is boring and childish. I agree with the movie being made for children, but I can't agree that the movie is boring. I think it's very interesting and gives us some lessons. I'll describe these lessons at the end of this essay. The heroine of {BRAVE} name is Merida. Now, I'll compare and contrast Merida & me.


 First, there is a big personality difference between Merida and me. Many people think personality is inborn.That is partly true. However, most of someone's personality is decided by acquired elements. Merida grew freely and lived in nature, so she didn't like acting as a princess. She doesn't have any desire to be rich or famous. To the contrary, I have lived in a normal city, and I want to be rich and famous. If I'm a princess, I would hear my mother's advise and make an effort become a real princess.



 Second, I think Merida and I use similar methods to solve problems. I can't stand anything I don't want. It looks selfish, but it motivates me. If I have some problems that I want to change, I'll do everything in order to change them. Similarly, Merida made her mother eat a strange cake! She didn't know the cake had a strange power, but she was trying and giving everything to solve a problem.


The final, difference between Merida and me is BRAVERY! If Merida didn't have BRAVERY, she couldn't do anything! Because of her thoughtlessness, she experienced many problems. However, because of BRAVERY, she could find the witch's house; because of BRAVERY, she could make a cake; because of BRAVERY, she could rescue her mother from danger; because of BRAVERY, she could change her fate. If I was put in a situation as Merida's, I would be disappointed  and give up.


 The movie was really fun and interesting. So I was a little ashamed. Why? Because it was made for children. Still, this movie gave us some lessons. What lessons? It is a conviction of myself.
